The shadows of yesterday hang on the wall
The visitors drift in like ghosts in the hall
The three sirens wailing a red warning cry
The circling vultures all waving goodbye
I'm falling all through the night
Will you carry me
Deep in your heart and your soul?
And you hide under the apple blossom tree
A mourning veil of flowers drifting by
Your worst fears echo in the leaves
You walk out into the April rain and cry
Heaven help us, we're alive
We're a hundred thousand miles above the sky
Take our fears if they should rise
As the sifting sand returns us to the night
Give us wisdom to survive
And a guiding hand to lead us to the light
As the storm follows the river out to sea
A mist of doubt and worry in your eyes
You chase the sun and hope to see
Three white sails as the fire dies
I'm falling all through the night
Will you carry me
Deep in your heart?
Give us your guiding hand to lead us to the light
Heaven help us, we're alive
We're a hundred thousand miles above the sky
Give us wisdom to survive
And a guiding hand to lead us to the light
Heaven help us, we're alive
We're a hundred thousand miles above the sky
The absolute pinnacle of modern British progressive rock. The loss of David Longdon is a huge blow, but this band has the talent to carry on. This album was my introduction to them and is so melodic and memorable to be so intricately arranged and performed. scarroll007
Every time I think I’ve uncovered all the hidden gems I find another one, this is fine music. This band has two other more recent releases not available on Bandcamp, also amazing. Kind of a mix of genres with the post rock backbone I enjoy so much, very talented! Deej
