There was a time when the road was wide
Full of possibilities
And the sky was clear and blue
We were longing to be free
So we shed all our tears and chains
And we left all we knew behind
No more sorrow, no more pain
Just the sweetest evening rain
The dawn is coming closer
The storm will soon be over
The skies are clearing over you and me
The sun was shining, the river winding
When you and I went drifting down the bayou
The fields were burning, the leaves were turning
When sunset drew our eyes beyond the bayou
We'll chase the joys of life together, hand in hand
'Til the moss that grows in the forest shadows
Calls us home
There came a time when the breezes blew
Far away in the willow trees
And the bright Mississippi moon
Cast their shadows low and long
And we found that their roots run deep
And our memories of home had changed
No more sorrow, no more pain
Just the sweetest evening rain
Our broken hearts have healed now
The ghosts all laid to rest now
The passing years have somehow set us free
The sun was shining, the river winding
When you and I went drifting down the bayou
The crows are playing in the cypress swaying
We're back where we belong down on the bayou
We'll share the joys of life together, hand in hand
'Til the moss that grows in the forest shadows
Calls us home

The absolute pinnacle of modern British progressive rock. The loss of David Longdon is a huge blow, but this band has the talent to carry on. This album was my introduction to them and is so melodic and memorable to be so intricately arranged and performed. scarroll007

Every time I think I’ve uncovered all the hidden gems I find another one, this is fine music. This band has two other more recent releases not available on Bandcamp, also amazing. Kind of a mix of genres with the post rock backbone I enjoy so much, very talented! Deej
